Internal courses and training Canvas Studio drop-in re migration of videos from Kaltura to Studio
Canvas Studio is available through the global menu in Canvas. The tool is designed for teachers, course administrators, and students, offering an easy way to create and use video content. You can start using Canvas Studio today to create video assignments for your students. Additionally, you can create interactive quizzes directly in Studio to make learning more engaging.
If you have educational videos published in Canvas via Kaltura ie via My Media and Media Gallery from your Canvas course these videos will be migrated. Videos in Kaltura KI Play will continue to work as earlier but you are advised to manually copy them to Canvas Studio as soon as possible.
What you need to do
- If you have course-related video or audio material linked via KI Play to Canvas, you should migrate this material to Canvas Studio.
- The migration project only applies to video or audio files uploaded to My Media or Media Gallery within Canvas courses. KI Play material used outside Canvas is not included in the migration.
Questions and support
The Teaching and Learning Unit offers a drop-in hour on Zoom for support to anyone with questions.
During this drop-in sessions, you can ask questions such as:
- how do I manage shared videos?
- what do I do with videos in the external KI Play service that I want to use in my teaching?
This session will be in English. The same drop in session in Swedish will be offered 10 December.
