Internal courses and training Cancelled: Using Mentimeter and Padlet in your course in Canvas
In this short 60 minute workshop (via Zoom) we look at how you can use Padlet and Mentimeter, embedded in your Canvas learning activities, to promote active learning in the classroom.
About the workshop
We will look at a few examples for both asynchronous and synchronous activities designed to activate your students and help them achieve your learning outcomes.
This workshop is for those who already know how to create a Padlet board and Mentimeter presentation but who want inspiration and tips on how they can be used together with Canvas. The emphasis will be on asynchronous activities in your course whether it is online or part of a blended design. We hope that all participants will share how they use these tools via Canvas.
How to prepare
You will be given access to a Canvas course room one week before the workshop where we will post some examples. We will ask you to contribute a few posts to a Padlet and to a Menti-post before we meet (max 30 minute preparation).
Padlet is a digital noticeboard where students and staff can post resources or ideas to share with the class. Log in to KI's campus license (use KI e-mail and password).
Mentimeter is an tool for creating interactive presentations and polls both in a live audience but even asynchronously via Canvas. Log in for KI users (use your KI ID & password).
