Following our exploration of institutional approaches to academic integrity, this session delves deeper into how we can nurture genuine values of honesty and authenticity in education. While universities continue to develop guidelines and detection tools, the heart of the matter lies in how students and educators personally relate to integrity in an AI-enhanced world.

Can we, by shifting our focus from enforcement to understanding, we can help students discover the intrinsic value of their own intellectual journey? This isn't just about following rules – it's about fostering a learning environment where personal integrity becomes a natural response to technological change.

In this session, we'll explore how educators can help cultivate these deeper values while acknowledging the realities of AI tools in education. We'll look at how personal experiences, cultural perspectives, and individual growth can strengthen academic integrity more effectively than external controls alone. By nurturing these fundamental values, we can create an environment where students naturally choose authentic engagement over artificial shortcuts.

This session builds on our previous discussions but works as a standalone exploration for anyone interested in fostering genuine academic integrity in the AI age. Particularly relevant for educators who want to move beyond policy frameworks to create meaningful cultural change in their teaching practice.
