Conferences and symposiums Biostatistics network meeting: Biostatistics meets artificial intelligence
Welcome to the fourth biostatistics network meeting on Thursday 4 April, 2024 to be held at Karolinska Institutet Solna campus. The goal of these meetings is to encourage biostatisticians and those working in related fields to meet, listen to prominent thinkers, and discuss. The event is free and open to everyone working in, or interested in, biostatistics, bioinformatics, data science, epidemiology, and related fields.
We welcome colleagues from all branches (academia/industry/government) and geographic locations. The general theme of this meeting is "Where Medical Statistics meets Artificial Intelligence".

Keynote speakers
Chris Holmes is Professor of Biostatistics in Genomics at the Big Data Institute of the University of Oxford. His current research is focused on applications and statistical methods development in the genomic sciences and genetic epidemiology. He recently co-authored a paper titled "Where Medical Statistics meets Artificial Intelligence" (NEJM, 2023). Chris is a founding member of ELLIS and a founding editorial board member of the New England Journal of Medicine AI.
Magnus Boman is Professor in AI & Health at Karolinska Institutet. He conducts research in artificial intelligence with applications in medicine, especially computational epidemiology (digital epidemiology), adaptive treatments in psychiatry, and precision medicine. Professor Boman leads AI@KI, a strategic project initiated by the President of Karolinska Institutet with the goal to collect and describe all activities at KI related to artificial intelligence (AI).
Elisabeth Epstein is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Karolinska Institutet and senior physician at Södersjukhuset, Stockholm. Her current research focuses on implementing AI-driven support applied to ultrasound images for identifying ovarian cancer.
