Lectures and seminars An evening at The Cell: Antibiotic resistance through research and design
The Cell, the Technical Museum's branch in Hagastaden, invites you to an evening on antibiotic resistance. Together with alumni from Beckmans School of Design, researchers from the research centre AIMES (Center for the Advancement of Integrated Medical and Engineering Sciences), will participate.
The evening begins with Are We There Yet? where Beckmans alumni visualise research in poster format. The project was shown in the autumn of 2024 at the UN in New York ahead of the high-level meeting on antibiotic resistance. Antibiotic resistance is a natural process, but the overuse of antibiotics in humans and animals accelerates it - with serious consequences for global health and food security.
A circular installation in The Cells atrium presents 16 visual stories that challenge misconceptions and highlight solutions to the problem. The students want to encourage dialogue and highlight how action, at all levels of society, can reduce the impact and slow the spread of resistance.
KI researchers Agneta Richter-Dahlfors and Keira Melican from AIMES will deepen the conversation through short presentations on the latest research. How does antibiotic resistance affect us today? What can we do to slow down the development?
The event is open to the public - free entrance. The event will be held in Swedish.
