In this session the Unit for Teaching and Learning's Andrew Maunder and Marcus Emas will explore how AI can be used both today and tomorrow to use planning and preparation time more effectively, and increase engagement.
We start with giving an overview of some specific tools for finding and summarising scientific information, and then take a look at the technologies behind such tools - such as LLMs and RAGs - describing in broad terms how they work and what inherent limitations this leads to. We continue with an overview of AI tools for evaluating scientific information, followed by some advice on how to in turn evaluate the output of AI tools.
