Brjánn Ljótsson receives award to young researcher
Brjánn Ljótsson receives the annual award to an outstanding young researcher by the Swedish National Committee for Psychological Sciences, in recognition of his research on psychological treatment of irritable bowel syndrome, IBS.
Brjánn Ljótsson works at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience (CNS) and he is the first researcher at Karolinska Institutet to be presented with the award. He is awarded for his meritorious contributions to an increased understanding of how psychological factors influence health, and how such knowledge can be practiced. The award ceremony will be held on October 30th.
Brjánn Ljótsson defended his thesis in 2011 at Karolinska Institutet. Today, he conducts research on exposure-based cognitive behaviour therapy, CBT, for children and adolescents and CBT for persons with self-injury behaviour.
