Björn Högberg new Head of Department at MBB
Björn Högberg has been assigned the role of Head of Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics (MBB), starting on July 1, 2024.

The decision was signed by KI’s rector Annika Östman Wernerson on June 25, 2024. Björn Högberg takes over as head after Sten Linnarsson and the appointment is for five years.
Björn is a professor and research group leader for a group at MBB studying receptor signaling and drug delivery using new tools based on DNA nanotechnology. Björn has a past as a researcher at Mid Sweden University and Harvard Medical School and came to Karolinska Institutet in 2010 and to MBB in 2015.
