DATAETHICS Summer School 2022: "Big Data, Big Implications: Data Protection in Biomedicine”

Bachelor, master, and doctoral students of KI in medicine, biomedicine, and life sciences - join us to debate on the significance of coupling ethical with scientific considerations of the curation and handling of biomedical data, and learn about the latest developments in data science, bioinformatics, and applied AI in (bio)medicine. 

5 day-course 

This 5-day course in Barcelona offers a unique set of lectures and activities enabling you to familiarise yourself with the value chain of ethical, social and legal considerations in the field of Biomedical Big Data (BBD) driven developments. You will listen to lectures from leading and established cross-disciplinary experts in data curation and privacy, data use, ethics, biomedicine, and related fields. You will also have ample opportunities to network with fellow students and thematic experts from the nine leading European medical institutions in Eurolife, as well as external speakers from academia and industry.

Upon completion of the course you will be awarded a certificate of participation and a DATAETHICS Open Badge for recognition of qualifications.

Participation (travel up to 275 Euro, accommodation and meals) of 2 students from KI will be funded by the DATAETHICS project in line with the project conditions.

This is the fourth joint school (including the pilot school) of the Erasmus+ strategic partnership DATAETHICS led by Eurolife, a network of 9 research intensive European universities.

The DATAETHICS series of summer and winter schools focus on ethical aspects of (bio)medical questions regarding the handling of large data sets.
