Anti-doping profile Arne Ljungqvist awarded
In February at the Olympic Games in Sochi, Professor Arne Ljungqvist was presented with the Humanitarian Award by The Foundation for Global Sports Development (GSD). Arne Ljungqvist has for over 40 years been a leading figure in the fight against doping in sports.
He is Chairman of the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) Medical Commission and has had a long career in medical research at Karolinska Institutet. In addition to the award, GSD presented 100 000 USD to his own foundation, Professor Arne Ljungqvist Anti-Doping Foundation, to use toward advancing clean sports and healthy life style.
Arne Ljungqvist and the award will be emphasised on Tuesday June 17th, when Steven Ungerleider gives a lunch lecture related to his book "Faust´s Gold – Inside the East German Doping Machine". The lecture is held at the Pharmacology lecture Hall, Nanna Svartz väg 2.
