Anders Björkman Awarded 3 Million SEK from the Erling Persson Family Foundation

Anders Björkman has been awarded a grant of 3 Million SEK from the Erling Persson Foundation. The grant will be awarded over a 3 year period for the project entitled "Is Malaria elimination possible in Zanzibar? A case study for Africa.”

The project focuses on the feasibility of eliminating Malaria from a region or country with high endemic rates. To achieve this new intervention strategies will be employed; specifically targeting residual parasite reservoirs and using new surveillance tools and strategies, including new molecular surveillance tools.
