Alumni from KI:s Master’s courses in dementia care meet at Silvia Master Academy Day 2019

On the 29th of November 2019 the annual event ”Silvia Master Academy Day” took place. During a full day, Silvia Doctors, Silvia Occupational therapists and Silvia Physiotherapists with a master’s degree in dementia care from KI, met at the Silviahemmet foundation. The purpose is to share experiences, gain new knowledge and network.

The participants in the Silvia Master Academy Day 2019 are alumni and teachers/staff from KI:s Master’s courses in Dementia Care for Physicians and for Occupational Therapists & Physiotherapists, both in collaboration with the Silviahemmet foundation. The one-year master’s courses are online, part-time studies over 2 years. The aim of the training is to develop effective and quality-assured dementia care. Participants who complete the training earn the title of Silvia Doctor, Silvia Occupational therapist or Silvia Physiotherapist. 

During the day, there were presentations from experts on dementia as well as more personal accounts of living with an Alzheimer’s diagnosis. The day ended with Silviahemmet foundation’s awards for 2019 being granted to Silvia Doctor Madelene Johanzon, Silvia Occupational therapist Elin Wulff and Silvia Physiotherapist Linda Larsson.
