In this webinar Elisa Floriddia, Associate Editor at Nature Communications, will talk about the benefits of the peer-review process for authors and reviewers as well as the role of the editors
- The role of peer review. Why should I be a reviewer? How do editors select reviewers?
We will focus on why researchers should consider being a reviewer, what qualities editors look for in a reviewer, what peer-reviewing entails as well as how to get involved in the peer review process.
- Writing your review report
We will also talk about what makes a constructive and insightful review reports (and a few don’ts).
- Peer review and editorial decisions
We will close with how editors assess the review reports and make post-review decisions.
The aim of the webinar is to actively think about the peer-review process and answer your questions on what happens after pressing the ‘submit’ button.

About the Speaker:
Elisa Floriddia, PhD, Associate Editor at Nature Communications.
Elisa joined Nature Communications in October, 2019. She received her PhD in cellular and molecular neuroscience from the University of Tuebingen, where she studied the mechanisms of neuroregeneration and repair. As a postdoctoral researcher at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Disease (DZNE) and at the Karolinska Institute, Elisa worked on the cellular and molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration, neurodevelopment, and the molecular and functional heterogeneity of glial cell populations. Elisa handles manuscripts in stem cell and glial biology, neurodevelopment, and neuroregeneration and repair.
