About the SIGHT Fellows programme
The SIGHT Fellows programme in Global Health Leadership is an initiative to promote an emerging generation of global health leaders based in local research institutions. The program identifies upcoming leaders in global health with the potential to serve as agents of change with the ability to create progress towards global health equity and the realisation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), fosters the further development of leadership skills and international networks. The current cohort is made up of 11 scientists who had their first meeting on 13-14 September 2021, live in Uppsala.
"Being selected as one of the fellows of this program is a great opportunity to develop my research and figure out how to maximise the usefulness of new discoveries in the lab to make an impact in people’s lives.
Through this programme I aim to develop new interdisciplinary research and collaborations with an effort to achieve targets laid out in the UN’s sustainable development goals", says Ferdinand Choong, Assistant professor.
