In the second seminar of the series we will get information about the newly conducted European Health Literacy Survey (HLS 19), in which about 44 000 respondents from 17 countries in the European Region took part in.

Title

"The European Health Literacy Survey & Health Literate Organisations"

In the first part of the seminar, we will get information about the newly conducted European Health Literacy Survey (HLS 19), in which about 44 000 respondents from 17 countries in the European Region took part in. Information will be given about the Health Literacy instruments that were used , which Health Literacy aspects that were in focus, and how researchers and policy makers from the 17 countries collaborated with the survey. Furthermore, selected results will be presented, which, among other things show that there is a social gradient in Health Literacy. In the second part of the seminar, we will get information about the concept and definitions of a Health Literate Organisation and on instruments for measuring how Health Literate (friendly or responsive) an organisation is, with a focus on healthcare organisations. Finally, information will be given about what versions of the HLS-EU-Q instrument and what Organisational Health Literacy instrument, that are available in Sweden.
