"Health Literacy and migration health"

In the first part of the seminar, we will take part of Health Literacy initiatives and research on Health Literacy that is aimed at or includes migrants in Sweden. In the second part of the seminar, we will go through what challenges exists, and what is important to keep in mind when conducting Health Literacy research among/with migrants. In the third part of the seminar, information will be given about which versions of the Functional Health Literacy Scale (S-FHL Scale) and the Communicative- and Critical Health Literacy Scale (C&C HL Scale) that are available in Sweden and how those have been validated and used.

Josefin Wångdahl, PhD, Department of Public Health and Caring Sciences, Uppsala University and Aging Research Center, Karolinska Institute & Stockholm University. She is Sweden’s research representative in M-POHL, member in the Research Standards Committee of the International Health Literacy Association, and co-founder of the Swedish Health Literacy Webpage.
