Lectures and seminars Scientist shows art: Children's development in a digitalized world

On Thursday, October 9, Lisa Thorell, a researcher in clinical neuroscience at Karolinska Institutet, will be visiting The Cell. Using Teresa Wennberg's work Nuit Blanche as a starting point, she will share her current research on child development, digital media, and mental health.
In the program series Scientist Shows Art, art and research meet in new perspectives.
During the evening, Lisa Thorell will present her research on how digital media such as social media and computer games affect children's language development, attention, and the relationship between children and parents. She will also highlight the links between digital media use and mental health, with a particular focus on self-esteem, body image, and neuropsychiatric disorders such as ADHD. Using Teresa Wennberg's artwork as a starting point, the conversation will open up both reflection and new knowledge about children's development in a digitalized world.
