Lectures and seminars CIM Seminar series - “Adipose tissue – a treasure box for discoveries”
Welcome to the CIM:s seminar series with the title “Adipose tissue – a treasure box for discoveries” with Professor Matthias Blüher from the University of Leipzig. You can attend onsite or online via Zoom.
Speaker
Matthias Blüher, professor of Molecular Enocrinology, Department of Medicine University of Leipzig.
The Blüher lab research is focused on the role of adipose tissue function and distribition in insulin resistance, the development of type 2 diabetes and other metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. Matthias established a large adipose tissue bank from well-phenotyped individuals which supported the functional characterization and translation of association signals for type 2 diabetes and obesity traits into molecular, cellular and physiological mechanisms.
Title
"Adipose tissue – a treasure box for discoveries".
