“Challenges of clinical research in dementia – the value of our failures”
Dr. Stefan Teipel, professor, University Medical Center Rostock and DZNE Rostock/Greifswald, Rostock, Tyskland
Prof. Dr. Stefan Teipel is full professor and chair of Clinical Dementia Research at the University Medical Center Rostock and deputy speaker of the DZNE site Rostock/Greifswald. Prof. Teipel's work focuses on clinical research of Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. This includes the development, evaluation and implementation of imaging techniques and biomarkers for neurodegenerative dementias, pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments, and digital assistance systems. In recent years, Prof. Teipel's group has increasingly sought to more actively involve patients and caregivers in research through participatory research methods.
